Corinto
Corinto is a town of 17,000 (1995 population) on the northwest Pacific coast of Nicaragua and is one of the most important cities and port in the department of Chinandega. The municipality was founded in 1863 and was named in honour of the Greek city of Corinth. It is also one of the poorest areas of Nicaragua however, it is very heavy with religion and has many cultural activities that people throughout Nicaragua come to visit.
